Grab your blender, a few pantry items and you're ready to go! This is our Favorite hummus recipe. We use it as a dip for all the veggies, slather it in sandwiches and chip dipping of course! Hope you like it as much as my Family does!
In the Blender:
1 Can Chickpeas (15 oz)
1/2 cup tahini
Juice of 1 small Lemon
1 red pepper
1/4 cup warm water (more if needed)
1/2 tsp sea salt (more if needed)
1/2 tsp. cumin ground
1/4 cayenne pepper
1/4th tsp garlic powder
*Optional add in **2 scoops of Further Food Collagen**
Start with your pepper, removing the stem and seeds and roast the pepper at 400 degrees for about 20 min or until lightly charred/very tender.
Note: I usually do go ahead and roast with other veggies and I will set the pepper aside for later in the week or I will just pop it right into the blender for hummus.
Drain chickpeas and add to blender. Add the rest of your ingredients and blend until smooth. For me it takes about 2 min. on a med-high setting. Add salt to taste and use right away or store in fridge and eat cold throughout the week.
This makes a large portion size and taste great with chicken, turkey, used on wraps,,, or right off the spoon if your like me :)
*During the winter its hard to keep up with a cold smoothie every morning and by adding collagen to my hummus it's great to know I will be getting a little boost throughout the day!
