These cookies smell and taste like Christmas morning. By using organic blackstrap molasses, these cookies have so many beauty boosting benefits.  Scroll to the bottom of this post to read more about this :) Now onto the recipe for my chewyggingerbread cookies

Shout out to my Mama for baking

the Best homemade gingerbread cookies

for our family, every single year!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 Cups Paleo Baking Flour (Bob's Red Mill)

  • 2 tsp Ground Ginger

  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp Ground Allspice

  • 1/8 tsp Ground Black Pepper

  • 1/8 tsp Ground Clove

  • 1/8 tsp Ground Nutmeg

  • 1/4 Heaping tsp Baking Soda

  • Pinch of Salt

  • Pinch Black Pepper

  • 6 TBL Softened Butter (OR vegan butter)

  • 3 TBL Black Strap Molasses

  • 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar (I used swerve)

Directions:

-Preheat oven to 325

-Mix all your dry ingredients in a bowl. I highly recommend sifting your flour & baking soda into the bowl. This avoids any clumps in your mix.

-In a separate bowl, cream your butter, sugar and Molasses. I did about this for 2-3 min until it was well combined.

-Then add your flour to wet batter in 3 sections. This is to avoid a mess with the hand mixer and ensure you have a well blended dough without over mixing.

-Form into a Ball and chill for about 5-10 min. Prepare baking pan and sprinkle during this time.

-Roll out cookies about 1/4 inch thick and lay on a parchemnt paper or lightly greased cookie sheet.

*tip* if you want to decorate with sprinkles, add on top of dough before baking!

- Bake at 325 for about roughly 10-12 min. *This really depends on your oven and your baking sheet. So check at 10 min and just be carfeul not to burn. You want the cookie firm to touch/should be able to freely slide it on the baking sheet without sticking*

Let your cookies cool and then Decorate with your favorite Icing!

P.S. you can save half the cookie dough (keeping in wax paper in the fridge)

& make reserve a batch of cookies so that you can have fresh gingerbread on christmas morning!

The Beauty Boost:

These cookies have a beautiful rich flavor of blackstrap molasses. Eating this ingrediant on its own is... not so tasty but, when used in baking recipes I love the flavor it provides!

Known for its high levels minerals of magnesium, calcium and iron:

-Magnesium helps your sleep. Better sleep = better moods. Giving me another excuse to add in a couple cookies before bed.

-Calcium is so important for healthy strong bones. I want to keep my bones in the best condition, this includes the building and maintenance of  teeth. AkA Let us keep smiling at the world.

-Adding iron in your diet during pms is commonly recommended, to help with any symptoms. Keeping iron levels up will help boost your mood. Happy homones = good mood food. This is essential during the holidays!

Hope You are having a Great Holiday season thus far.

Remember this holiday season don't eat less, eat well!

-Your Faithful Friend,

Charlotte Faith
