Talking Tongue Health

I mentioned tongue scraping to a friend of mine and they had no idea what I was talking about. This resulted in an idea! What a good topic to share on the blog!

I started using a tongue scraper a couple years ago after studying Ayurvedic medicine. Now it's something I do every single morning!

When you wake up and stick your tongue out, know that white "film" on your tongue? Maybe it's the terrible taste or even bad morning breath that you notice first thing in the morning? These experiences happen because during the night your body is hard at work detoxifying! Much of that "groodie" film on the tongue is simply the toxins being excreted from your body. The key to remember is that your body's natural function is to rid itself of toxins which keep you healthier!

By scraping your tongue 1st thing in the morning, even before your first sip of water, will help remove these toxins from your body.

Other reasons I tongue scrape:

1) Stops toxins from being reabsorbed into your body and boost your immune system.

2) Improves sense of taste! (my favorite!) By removing that "film" it exposes your tastebuds you have a clean palate to experience the true flavors of your food.

3) Promotes fresh breath and overall dental health.

You are so unique and it's important to take care of the body that your sweet soul inhabits. I have found the best way to live a healthy life just means making little improvements to better serve your self each day. There are a lot of brands out there for tongue scrapers but I have found this one to be the "real deal".
