Dairy Free Parmesan

Vegan Parmesan

  

Ingredients:

-1/4 cup raw walnuts 

-1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds

-2 tablespoons raw hemp seeds

Pinch of salt and black pepper

-1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

2/3 cup nutritional yeast flakes

 

Directions

Start by toasting your walnuts and sunflower seeds on the stove for 3-5 min or until lightly golden brown. Once your nuts/seeds have cooled add to a small food processor and pulse until you have a fine crumble, similar to Parmesan cheese. Then stir in (or blend but be careful not to over blend into a dust) your nutritional yeast, salt, pepper, hemp seeds and herb seasoning. Store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 3-4 weeks, but I doubt it will last that long. 

 

  • I love using sunflower seeds because they contain a large amount of selenium which helps to support my thyroid. 

  • Walnuts are amazing for they provide omega 3 fatty acids which are so beneficial for our cognitive health, most well known for helping our brains! 

  • Hemp seeds are a great source to get amino acids,  these are important to help lower blood pressure, great for a healthy heart. 

Lastly these are all a reliable source of healthy whole-food fats.
